Eva was born January 19, 1925, in Manchester, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Theadora (Hennick) Ternisky. She spent her childhood in Manchester, and after marrying George Millerd, she moved to a farm in Stanley, NY, where she raised her family. Eva proudly worked 37 years as a Director for the Newark Developmental Center, where she supervised multiple residences and deeply cared for her staff and patients.
While living on the farm, Eva not only raised her three children but several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. The farm was known as home to many because of Eva’s welcoming nature and warm heart. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her spaghetti dinners, her generosity, and the love she gave to all who knew her.
She is survived by; her daughters Cynthia (John) Crisci and Kathleen Milliman; son, Jeffery (Nancy) Millerd; grandchildren Jaime (Jeff), Nicole (Dee), Kim (David), Chris (Roseann), Ashley (Greg), Taryn (Tyler), and Allison (Gerald); great-grandchildren Meghan (Luke), Zach (Cait), Tyler, Katie, Matt, Ayden, Alex, Jack, Charlie, Emma, Eva, and Finn; great-great-grandchildren Liam and Carter; brother, Peter (Rosemary) Ternisky; sister, Anna Boardman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by; her husband, George Millerd; brother, Michael Ternisky; and sisters Mary Parks and Katherine Ternisky. Eva’s family will forever be grateful to all of the wonderful caregivers that provided her with love and comfort throughout this past year. You will always be in our hearts.
