Eva June “Midge” Young

June 18, 1925-September 14 ,2016

Eva June “Midge” was born on June 18, 1925 in Atwater, California. She was the second of three daughters born to Rupert Dewey (Cy) and Cora Stanton Perkins. The Family moved to Churn Creek Bottom in Redding, CA. Midge graduated from Shasta High School in 1943 and attended nurses training in the Cadet nursing program during WWII at O’Conner Sanitarium in San Jose, Ca and graduated in 1946. She married Myron Young on June 12, 1947 in Red Bluff, CA.   In 1954, they moved to McArthur, CA with three of their children Dana, Wanda and Ruth.  Her fourth child, Paul was born while they lived at McArthur.  Midge was a housewife, mother and worked part time as an RN for a local doctor’s office.

In 1969, the family moved to Nampa, ID where they ran the Handi Grocery Store on Highway 20/26 north of Nampa.

Midge was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Myron in 2000.  She is survived by her children; Dana & Nu Young of Nampa, Wanda & Jim Couch of Payette, Ruth & Glen Hasenyager and Paul & Malinda Young of Meridian.  Her Grandchildren; Jamie & Gretchen Couch, Angie & Chris Spelman all of Payette, David & Jennifer Young of Caldwell, Michele and Ryan Latter of Bend OR, Shon Hasenyager & Alesha Barron, Greg Hasenyager & Kari Weger all of Kuna, Andy & Lori Pham of Hawaii, Tri and Nancy Pham, and Quoc Pham all of Texas, TuAnn and Brian Bockenstette of Nampa, Athena & Walter Maldonado of Nampa and Heather and Ryker Haddock of Utah.  She is survived by 19 great grandchildren, her sister Clair Ely of CA, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Hila and Dirk Lynn of CA and numerous nieces & nephews.

The family would like to thank Karcher Estates Assisted Living for their care of Mom for the 2 years Midge lived there. We also want to thank Treasure Valley Hospice, especially Margery & George and their family for their special loving care of Mom.
