Eunice Chrystal (Bos) Weeldreyer

Passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 27, 2021 at home at the age of 100. She was born August 16, 1921 the daughter of John and Tressa (Clapp) Bos. Eunice obtained a bachelor’s degree from Western State Normal School (became Western Michigan University in 1957).

She became an elementary school teacher and worked most of her career with Otsego Public Schools, primarily at Alamo Center Elementary. Eunice was a long-term member of Second Reformed Church. Eunice was a voracious reader and was a member and chairwoman for the Writers Group through the Shepherds Center. Eunice was a committed gardener and a member of several Garden Clubs. In addition to her considerable work within her church, Eunice was also an active volunteer for many other organizations including meals on wheels and the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre.

Eunice was very dedicated to her family and provided childcare for her grandchildren for several years. Eunice was a deep believer in her Christian faith that brought her so much direction in life and comfort in passing.

On June 25, 1949 she was united in marriage to Paul Weeldreyer who preceded her in death on February 28,1980. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Bos. Eunice is survived by her sons, Eric (Donna) Weeldreyer, Jon (Michelle) Weeldreyer; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
