Eunice C. Parks, age 86, of Fairmount, IN, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at University Nursing Center in Upland, IN. Mrs Parks was employed by Madison Grant School System at Park Elementary School as a cook for 13 years. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home with the Dirty Dozen Gangto Florida, euchre parties and eating out.
She was a member of the Fairmount American Legion Auxiliary Post 313 and bowled on the Senior Citizens Bowling League from 1993-2000. She was the daughter of the late Virgil Barnes and the late Flora Catherine (Rice) Barnes, born May 15, 1926 at Irvine, Kentucky.
She married Louis Parks June 7, 1947 at Covington, Kentucky, he preceded in death August 18, 2008. Daughter: Connie(John) Chaplin, Marion, IN Two Sons: James (Judy) Parks, Jonesboro, IN Jerry(Sharon) Parks, Elwood, IN One Brother: Donald (Janet) Barnes, Manchester, OH 7 surviving grandchildren; Shannon (Michael) Reed, Marion, IN Todd (Samantha) Chaplin, Kennesaw, GAAshley Parks, Gas City, IN Lesley (Jonathon) Gaddis, Summitville, IN 3 Great Grandchildren: Kennedy Reed Elijah and Madelyn Gaddis.
She was preceded in death by grandson, James Priest,brother, Robert Barnes and Sisters, Glysta Easterly. Glady S. Parks, great granddaughter, Lily Marie Gaddis.
