Ben was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone. Ben was a huge LA Dodgers baseball fan and watching their games was one of his favorite pastimes. Ben worked for ATSF Railroad in Barstow, California, for 42 years. He also worked a second job, part time, at Barstow Del Taco and Dee Motor Co during those years. Ben served with the U.S. Army 79th Infantry Division, during WWII and received the WWII Army of Occupation and WWII Victory Medals. Upon his return from military service, he married his sweetheart Clorinda. Shortly, thereafter, they moved to Barstow, California, where they lived for 69 years and raised four children. Ben spent many hours volunteering at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Lenwood, where he was a member. He gave us the gift of life, we grew up feeling secure, safe and loved. He taught us right from wrong, being there for us, no matter what. He was the best dad we could ever have, and we will miss him beyond words. A special thank you to Victor and MaryAnn Perea for their loving devotion and care during Ben’s final two years.
