Eula May “Eulamae” Gee DeHart, age 92, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home in Morehead, KY. This loving mother and grandmother was surrounded by her five daughters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was born March 10, 1928 in Haldeman, Rowan County, KY to the late Hattie May Stevens (1904 – 1992) and John Walter Gee (1902 – 1936).  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Gee, Oscar “Buster” Gee and Edward Gee and two sisters, Aline Louise Easterling of Clearfield, KY and Lucie Bowling of London, KY. Also preceding her in death was her only son, Phillip Ray DeHart (1956 – 2018) and two granddaughters, Tiffany and Michelle DeHart, ages 2 weeks and 4 ½ years of age respectively.

She attended Haldeman school through the 8th grade and at fifteen married Francis Curtis DeHart, also deceased. They separated after twenty-one years of marriage and eventually divorced.

Her priority in life was to provide for and raise her six children and she worked hard inside and outside the home in order to do it. She eventually worked as a nursing assistant at St. Claire Medical Center for twenty years. Her laughter and caring manner brought comfort to many newborns and their mothers.

Eulamae was a most loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, but she also identified with being a child of God – Not Perfect, Just Forgiven. She exhibited strong faith and Christian love and shared this love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ with her children and anyone who would listen.  Her bible is well worn and cherished.

Besides her youngest brother, Ewing Walter Gee (Martha) of Bullhead, Arizona, she is survived by her five daughters: Eugenia Lee Williams of Winchester, KY, Lowone Carolyn White of Salyersville, KY, Jewell Fay Hunter of Morehead, Susan Kay York of Morehead, and Loretta Cole of Clearfield, KY.  Also, surviving Eulamae are 12 grandchildren: Angela Faith White, David Paul York, Claudia Lynn Strange, Brandy Towler (John), Heather DeHart, Nathaniel Hunter, Jonathan DeHart (Erika), Robert Aaron DeHart, Karen Adams, Phillisha DeHart, Nicole DeHart, and Daniel DeHart (Hannah, and 22 great-grandchildren: Alex, Logan, Eric and Sage York, Aidan DeHart, Brooklyn Moe, Ember Hunter, Stepheny, Jayden, Enola, Lennox, and Aiyanna Towler, Aubry, Nathan and Kettiera DeHart, Brian Adams (Lexie), Jasmine McCarty and Haley Anderson, and Cheyanna White, Decklan Robinson, Charity Gaines, and Autumn Adkins; one recent addition: a great-great grandson, Liam J. Adams; and several nieces and nephews.

Although the desire is to celebrate her life and focus on wonderful memories of her, hearts are heavy as she will be sorely missed by her children and other family and friends who remain behind.
