Eugene was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 284 National Championship Drill Team. He graduated from Purdue University (1947), with a degree in electrical engineering, and went on to satisfy a fulfilling career of 42 years with American electric Power in South Bend until his retirement (1989).

On October 14, 1950, he married Rita Debniak at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. She died on October 18, 2001

He resided in South Bend with his late wife of 51 years, Rita, and is survived by his three sons, Jerry (Janice) Woznicki of Convent Station, New Jersey; Jim Woznicki of Chicago, Illinois; and Fr. Don Woznicki, associate Pastor of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Northbrook, Illinois; one brother, Ralph (Sandra) Woznicki of Mishawaka, IN; and one sister-in-law, Flo Woznicki (wife of his deceased brother Ervin) of Newport Richey, FL.

Eugene was a devout long-time parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, offering his time, treasure, and talents as Usher and other church volunteer activities. He would later become a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church after his family moved to the Wembley Drive location. Eugene was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5570, the Polanaise Club, Holy Name Society of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Notre Dame University Club, The Purdue Alumni Association, and the Purdue Club of St. Joseph Valley.

Eugene had a passion for history, current events, and being with people. He enjoyed viewing and following sports, particularly football, baseball (Chicago Cubs), and mens and womens college basketball. He particularly enjoyed going to games of those he knew, especially his sons as they grew up. He also had a passion for Polish heritage and his Alma Mater, Purdue. His biggest passion and most of all, Eugene was a devoted family man as husband, father, mentor, and friend – there was nothing that made him more happy than to see his family happy and secure.

His warm and loving smile and comforting sweetness will be impressed on the memories of those he leaves behind.
