Mr. Eugene Neal Smith passed away Tuesday March 1, 2011 after a long struggle with cancer.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his mother Alma Galloway and father Rubin Smith.
He is survived by his partner Caren Bowers, a cousin Richard Gammil, and other extended family members and friends. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Florida State University and Baruch College in New York, served his country proudly in the US Army, lived many years between New York and Huntsville, and spent the better part of his life educating children in the innercity school system of New York City.
