Eugene R. Chase, 77, of Freeport, formerly of Platteville, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. Born April 29, 1932, in Platteville, Wisconsin he was the son of Charles and Mildred (Hird) Chase.
Eugene worked at Malcom Eaton Enterprises for 40 years. Surviving are his cousins, Carol Norregaard of Roscoe, Virginia Reum of Rockford, William (Betsy) Mareth of Rockford, and Robert (Marlene) Mareth of Monett, Missouri; a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
