Eugene Harold Reed, 85, of Grafton, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Grafton City Hospital. He was born in Barrackville, WV, on May 18, 1935, son of the late Denzil Albert “DA” and Laura Oval Smallridge Reed. He is survived by his wife Marie Raschella Reed. They were married July 3, 2001 and enjoyed nineteen years together.
Eugene was employed by the Taylor County Board of Education as a custodian for many years and worked at the Tygart Lake State Park as a security guard. He liked to set on his porch and watch the humming birds and watch people go by. He enjoyed watching the old westerns, going out to eat, and taking long rides in the country.
Eugene is survived by two children, Brenda Paige Reed, SC,William D. Reed, Grafton, one grandson, Cecil Ray, one sister, Janice Rector, Falls Church, VA, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Albert Reed, four sisters, Edith Pauline Reed, Norma Helen Stutler, Marie Isner, Betty Jean Freeze.
