Eugene H. Gene Jedrzejewski, 75, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center of South Bend. Gene was born on September 11, 1930, in South Bend to Henry and Gertrude (Jaworski) Jedrzejewski and was a lifelong resident. He retired from Indiana & Michigan Power Company in November of 1992 after 44 years of service.

On November 13, 1971, Eugene married Nancy Weintraub, who survives. Surviving with his wife are his children, Margaret Margie (Peter) OConnor of North Royalton, Ohio, Randolph (Ginny) Jedrzejewski of Clinton, Pennsylvania, Kim (Bernard) Roberts of Granger, Indiana, Michael (Vickie) Green of Vicksburg, Michigan, Tami (Roy Bradberry) Green of Mishawaka, Indiana Debbie Jedrzejewski of South Bend; grandchildren, Michael & Leslie Aller, Kristin & Lauren OConnor, Kyle & Michael Green; and a great granddaughter, Haylea Jo Baker. Genes parents, Henry & Gertrude Jedrzejewski and his brothers, Gerald & Richard Jedrzejewski all preceded him in death.

Gene was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the American Legion Post 50, South Bend, where he was instrumental in designing and building the post, and served as Post Commander, a 3rd District Commander, and a Northern Vice Commander for Indiana. He was also a member of the Avalon Grotto in South Bend, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Bend, the Masonic Lodge # 745, F & AM, where he was a 32nd degree mason, the Orak Temple, a 46 year member of the 40 & 8 Club, a Boy Scout Master for Pack 512, and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
