Survivors include his companion of eighteen years, Ruth Taylor; his sons, Earl and Freddie May; sisters, Betty Ruth Sutherland and Mary Frances Sansom; his grandchildren, Karen Johnson, Connie Grace, Kenny May, Kim McVay, Chris May, Daniel May, Kevin May and David May; his thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
