Mr. Eugene Amos Smith, 86, of Newnan, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute. He was born August 20, 1929, in Newnan to the late Clarence Martin Smith & Lonnie Lou Hardegree Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Wylene South Smith, and his son, Eugene C. Smith. Mr. Smith grew up in Newnan and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he majored in mechanical engineering. He worked for and retired from Playtex as a mechanical engineer for over thirty years.
Survivors include sons, Mark C. Smith (Debra), D. Wayne Smith; grandchildren, Jason Smith, Kevin King, Eric Smith, Kristie Smith, Brian Smith (Laura); great-grandchildren, Parker Smith, Samantha Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Joshua Smith, Andrew Smith, Benjamin Smith, Barron Smith; siblings, Emily Milton (Joe), Bill Smith(Garland), Buddy Smith (Carolyn); daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith; numerous nieces and nephews.
