Ethel Tanner, age 92, of Salem, died at 12 midnight Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born June 24, 1922 in Normatown, West Virginia, daughter of the late Ezra and Nettie C. (Cogar) Turner. She is survived by two sons, Herman Sprouse of Salem and William Tanner of Salem; three daughters, Marlene Starcher of Elyria, Cathie Randles of Akron, and Vickie French of Salem; two sisters, Wanda Duelly of PA, and Edith Vannoy of PA; a brother, Leamon Turner of West Virginia; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Sprouse; a daughter, Arlene Greenleif; two sisters, Goldie Stephens and Lillian Harris; three brothers, Eugene, Rymer and William Turner; a grandson, David Starcher; and granddaughter, Charlotte Starcher.
