Ethel Marie LatunskiIt is with great sadness our family shares that Ethel Marie Latunski, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend went home to be with her savior, Jesus Christ on the evening of Thursday, March 17, 2022.Ethel was born on October 2, 1942 in Ville Platte, Louisana. She was the 3rd of 4 children to Sidney and Gladys (Johnson) Doga. She graduated from Ville Platte High School in 1960 and returned home for her class reunions on a regular basis to visit and reminisce with fellow August 29, 1964, she married James R. Latunski of Perry at St. Mary’s Church. The two met at the local dance hall in Ville Platte, Louisana where she loved to spend her free time dancing and enjoying cherry cokes. Together they raised a family of three children, James R. Latunski Jr, Gladys E Gerard (David) and Jerry Latunski (Kellie). Which blossomed into thirteen grandchildren Gimmie Lynn (Christian), Gunner, Jeff (Cyndi), Nena, Dustin (Betty), Makenzie (deceased), Scott (Jennifer), Brittney and Kevin and twelve great-grandchildren Logan, Emma, Kayleigh, Ella, Roxie, Damien, Donovan, Charlotte, Ezekiel, Oliver, Elijah and Madison whom she adored. Ethel was employed at GM and retired in her free time Ethel loved to cook and bake with her grandchildren and take them out to lunch and shopping. If her grandkids weren’t around, you could find her playing cards, but watch out because you had better know the rules! Ethel also loved going on adventures and traveling wherever her heart desired. Throughout her 79 years of life, she made some great friendships and no matter the distance she always made time for them.Towards her later years Ethel’s life slowed down just enough for her to watch all of the Hallmark and Lifetime movies she wanted. She continued to be an avid card player, trying her luck at casinos, while still managing to run the roads with her husband, and always attending family events.Ethel is survived by her husband James R Latunski, son James R Latunski Jr, daughter Gladys E (David) Gerard, son Jerry J (Kellie) Latunski, siblings Jerry Doga and Norma Jean Canfield, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other loving family and was predeceased by her parents Sidney and Gladys Doga, mother and father-in-law Ignace and Elizabeth (Hill) Latunski, brother Sidney Doga Jr, sister-in-laws Ruthann and Jackie Latunski, and granddaughter Makenzie Marie was a big part of many loved ones’ lives, and she will be greatly missed by all.
