Ethel Mae Burke Cook, 83, died Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Grenada Living Center in Grenada, MS..M.. Jerry L. Burke officiating… A native of Lafayette County, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Irene Tidwell Burke. Ethel grew up in the Taylor community and Chicago, Illinois. She resided in Memphis and Collierville, TN until she moved back to Oxford in 1975 and resided until 2003. In 2004 Ethel moved to Water Valley, MS where she lived until 2013 when she moved to Grenada, MS. Ethel was a member of the Oxford Church of the Nazarene. She served as a foster grandparent at the North Mississippi Regional Center for many years and loved working with the children. Ethel was a very talented seamstress and loved sewing as well as painting ceramics.. Ethel is survived by two daughters, Sandra Kay Hipp and her husband, Danny of Oxford, MS, Cindy Dunn of Booneville, MS; her son Kenneth Leon Cook and his wife, Eva of Southaven, MS; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren..
