Esther Kay Westerman, born December 6, 1938, daughter of Homer and Edna (Henry) Chambers, passed away peacefully at her home on December 24,2021.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty-three years, Fred William Westerman, and her youngest daughter, Trudie Gay Pyle. Kay spent most of her working career as a bank teller before transitioning to full-time grandmother starting in 1980.
Over the next forty years, she would help raise four generations of grandchildren. Being a grandmother was her true life’s passion and calling, and she cherished each one of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Aside from her role as a grandmother, Kay was also the Queen of Chesterfield.
Kay is survived by her daughters Tamara Garrett and Tracie Dodd, her grandsons James Brewer, Benjamin Brewer, Brody Brewer, Kirk Ritenour (Amanda), Andrew Pyle, and Colton Dodd, her granddaughter Kaycie Pyle, her great-grandsons, Brent Ritenour, Wyatt Brewer, and Kase Dodd, her great-granddaughters, Morgan Ritenour and Lakelynn Trudie Dodd, her great-great-grandson, Brantley Ritenour, her sons-in-law, Roland Dodd and Douglas Pyle, and her dear friend Charlie Yarberry.
