HARRINGTON, Esther “Jean” Kalamazoo Esther “Jean” Harrington passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the age of 91. She was born April 20, 1924 in Onida, SD to the late Everett and Almora Starbuck Jones. Jean was united in marriage to Melford Harrington on November 5, 1949.
He preceded her in death May 12, 2013. Jean served in the U.S. Coast Guard from September of 1944 until honorably discharged in December of 1945. Jean was a longtime member of Milwood United Methodist Church. She also was an Alpha XI Masters Sorority member of Beta Sigma Phi. Among her interests included golfing and traveling. Jean is survived by her sister-in-law, Lillian Jones; brothers-in-law, Clare Harrington, Jr., and Ken Joann Harrington; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Lucile Bill, Sr. Irwin, Alice Harold Dillenbeck and Nyel Jones; and sister-in-law, Hazel Harrington.
