Esther Irene Lynch, 86, of Humboldt, Iowa, formerly of Gilmore City, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 30, 2021, under hospice care at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt. In honor of the couple, who were married on that date 66 years ago. Esther, daughter of Ray and Judith (Sande) Erickson, was born October 25, 1934, in Humboldt, Iowa. She attended Country School near Thor, Iowa and later graduated from Humboldt High School in 1953. Esther attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduation she worked for a year in Des Moines until she married. Esther was united in marriage to Larry Lynch on June 19, 1955, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The couple lived and farmed in the Gilmore City area most of their married lives before moving to Humboldt in 1996. Esther was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was active and served on Church Circles. Esther was also involved as a 4-H leader and served as secretary for Gilmore City Housing. Survivors include Esther’s children Robert (Linda) Lynch, Connie Hansen and Susan (Tom) Basten, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Mary (Dave) Fevold, brother-in-law Barry (Betty) Lynch, and sisters-in-law Nancy (Daryl) Granner and Lana Kathy Thompson. Esther was preceded in death by her husband Larry, parents Ray and Judith Erickson, brothers-in-law John Lynch and Ed Thompson, and son-in-law Stephen Hansen.
