Essie Elizabeth Snow departed this life November 13, 2010 in her home surrounded by her children. She was 90 years old when the angels carried her precious soul to her Heavenly place of comfort. Essie was born on February 10, 1920 at Cedar Hill in Alpena where she lived all her life. She was the daughter of the late Fred Bailey and Elvia (Dillingham) Bailey. She was a faithful member of the Church Of Christ. On March 5th 1932 she was united in marriage to John Rayburn Snow. From this union was born 11 children of whom she loved and cherished so very much. She lived life to the fullest and her greatest joy was having her family around her. She had a way of making each and everyone feel so special. For many years she had “Sunday Dinners” for her family. No matter who came, friend or stranger they were always welcomed by her beautiful smile. She loved to sing, and to tell stories of her life to her grandchildren who would sit and absorb and cherich each word of her knowledge in their hearts. She was a precious jewel here on earth and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Essie is preceded in death by her husband, John Rayburn Snow, a Son, Fred (Sonny) Snow, granddaughter, JoDee Snow, 1 great-granddaughter Ariel Ohler and 3 sisters. She is survived by 6 daughters, Shirley and Johnny Baughman, of Harrison, Edith and L.D. Blevins, Wilma and Dan Ohler, Phyllis and Ron McNair and Laura Fitcheu all of Alpena, Ruthie and Steve Smith of Green Forest, 4 sons, Bill Snow of Berryville, J.R. Snow and wife Fairye and Tommy Snow both of Green Forest, Rick Snow and wife June of Alpena, 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her so much.
