Parting is certainly sweet sorrow, but Esma Dorough Miller, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loving friend to many found her heavenly reward late on the evening of June 16, 2011 after bravely trying to conquer many health issues in the last few years. She was formidable opponent in dealing with her illnesses and never lost that spirit that kept her thinking about the future and, most importantly, others, in spite of her own present problems. She was truly a sweet, sweet spirit that accepted with grace both the good and sometimes the not so good times in life. Esma was born April 5, 1927 in Heard County Georgia. She was the last surviving child of the late Henry Warner Dorough and Ada Howard Dorough. Also preceding her in death was her husband, John Ezekiel Miller, Jr. Together they had owned Lullaby Nursery and Esma had also been head bookkeeper for The Manufacturer’s National Bank and had also worked as a paraprofessional in the school system. Esma was a loyal and devoted member of Newnan First United Methodist Church. She was actively involved with her Sunday School class and The Swinging Seniors Choir. Additionally, she was active in the community in AARP, Senior Friends and was a long time member, with her husband John, in The Coweta Creek Jumpers Camping Club. Surviving Esma are her children Randy Miller and his wife Jane of Carrollton and Delilah Meadows and her husband Wesley of Savannah. Her life was made delightful by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Wesley Allen (Jennifer) Meadows, Jr., Anna Elizabeth (Jeff) Mills, Jenny Miller (Mark) Ingram, Brice Allen Meadows, Aiden Wesley Meadows, Addison Grace Meadows, Jacob Ryan Mills and Julia Lillie Ingram. Her steadfast and devoted friend for these last few years has been Robert Pittman.
