Ernest is survived by his wife, Candyce Poortinga of Lincoln, NE; son Damien Poortinga of Omaha, NE; daughter, Xavier “Avie” and husband John Fritz of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Paige and Riley Fritz. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and uncle, Ernie Alexander.
