Ernest “Bruce” Haskins, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Oakland, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest M. and Mildred A. (Stevens) Haskins. After graduating Oakland High School, Bruce honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for over 24 years until retiring as a Sergeant. After that he worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for 23 years. He was a member and faithful supporter of local VFW locations throughout the Lehigh Valley and Susquehanna, PA. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and poker and going to yard sales. He enjoyed eating breakfast at diners with friends and family. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Bruce (Pops) was well known and loved for always making jokes and being very witty.
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his children Mary Bruch and her husband Bret, Jean Garcia, Dian Bender and her husband Paul, Jennifer Haskins, Robert Haskins, Paul Haskins and David Haskins; sister Melva Hart; grandchildren Jazmin, Michael, Haley, Nahji, Nyasia, Aizariah, Jaivon, Erica, Rey, Ralph and Hassan; 7 great grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his siblings Edcil Haskins, Vernon Haskins, and Alice Wilmot and his grandson Kareem Fedd.
