Gary Brock, age 66, of Marianna passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in Jackson Hospital. He had been a resident of Jackson County most of his life, had served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Brock was a friend to all who knew him, loved his family and was a dedicated father and was known as “Pop” to many other children in the neighborhood. He enjoyed gospel music , the Gather Family was his favorite gospel group. Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lola Brock, his son William Kiley Brock and his brothers-in-law Rudolph Swearigen and Dr. Willis F. Melvin, Sr. Survivors include his son Wayne Brock and wife Sheila of Marianna, brother Stan Brock and wife, Paulette of Orlando, sisters Gloria Melvin and Jo Ann Swearigen of Marianna and Gail Lord and husband Leven of Ft. Walton, Fl.; granddaughters Amenda Brock and Kaelyn Reeves and a host of nieces and nephews.
