Ernie Blaise, Sr., 86, born January 15, 1922, in Dievernon, IL, formerly of O’Fallon and Washington Park, IL, died Monday, September 8, 2008, at Gardenview Care Center, Valley Park, MO.
Ernie was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, O’Fallon Democratic Club, a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus 4239, O’Fallon Sportsmans Club, and the Ironworkers Local 392. He also served during WW II in the Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Julia, nee Bori, Blaise, wife Johanna, nee Boyne, Blaise, a son Thomas Patrick Blaise, a sister Marcella Rickmann, father-in-law & mother-in-law Patrick Sr. and Johanna, nee Healey, Boyne, a sister-in-law Anna Lou Blaise, 4 brothers-in-law; Patrick Jr. (Catherine) Boyne, George Boyne, Michael Boyne, and Frank Boyne.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Stephanie (Louis) Feist of Ballwin, MO, Mary Ann (Joe) Lanza of Springfield, VA, a son Ernest Blaise Jr. of Atlanta, GA, 2 brothers; William (Irene) Blaise and Elmer Blaise, both of Belleville, IL, a brother-in-law Richard Rickmann of O’Fallon, IL, a sister-in-law Mary Boyne of Belleville, IL, 7 grandchildren; Joshua & Emily Feist, Crystal (Richard) Sanders, Ernest Blaise III, Brenda Lanza, Joe Lanza Jr., Ashleigh Lanza, and many friends.
