ERMALINDA S. VERDUGO, 71, a lifelong Lordsburg resident passed away Friday July 31, 2020 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso.
Ermalinda was born June 2, 1949 in Lordsburg to Raymundo and Isabel (Herrera) Silvas. She worked with the City of Lordsburg, Sunshine Haven Nursing Home, and at the Ena Mitchell Senior Center. She enjoyed helping local seniors and was always available to be their advocate when needed. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and enjoyed going camping with her family.
Ermalinda is survived by her husband Valente G. Verdugo of Lordsburg; sons, Donnie Silvas and Valente Verdugo III of Lordsburg; daughters, Lorraine Odom Sampson of Welches, Oregon, Carrie Ann Odom and Nikole Verdugo Callaway of Lordsburg; sister Estella Silvas of Lordsburg; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ida Ornelas, Diane Salas and Sandra Gonzalez.
Pallbearers will be Valente Verdugo III, Jacob Ornelas, Jacob Verdugo, Angel Gonzalez, Felix Salas, and James Michael Callaway.
