Erma Lee Bucio (James) age 63 of Hammond IN, peacefully passed away in her home on Monday, September 4, 2017, to be with her Lord and Savior.

Erma was born on March 26, 1954, to William and Betty James who preceded her in death.  She was the beloved wife of 44 years to Feliciano C. Bucio Sr. A loving mother to sons Feliciano (Kristin) Bucio Jr. and Antonio Bucio, Stepmother to Dagoberto (Rosa), Rafael (Dora), and Lil Chano (Yolanda) and adored Dama to grandkids: Braiden, Colton, Bryce, Manny, Stephanie, Fernanda, Chucky, Thaddeus, and Great Dama to LunaBelle.   Also survived by her siblings: Cora, Michael Tim (uncle Pal), Norman and Shirley. 1000’s nieces and nephews. (That’s a joke).

Erma was preceded in death by her siblings: Danny, Billy (Big Bro), and Sheila.

Erma was an avid church parishioner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hammond, IN. She was also a successful kidney transplant survivor.

Erma was a generous and sassy woman who was passionate about crocheting gifts including Disney characters, blankets, baby clothing, seasonal decorations, and caps for the newborn babies at church; her goal was to make everyone smile.

She also enjoyed rocking in the swing while Feliciano Sr. gardened and worked in the yard, hours of relentless canning and freezing of vegetables out of the garden, walking her fury babies Lencho and Baron, collecting Disney movies, weekly outings to House of Pizza, ordering gifts out of catalogs, family gatherings and she especially loved being surrounded by her grandchildren.

Erma could be found at church, running errands to Menard’s and Home Depot, or being surrounded by her beautiful flower garden while watching Feliciano Sr. chase the dogs and squirrels out of the fruit trees and vegetable garden.

Erma loved everyone and said if she didn’t.  She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her witty sense of humor, her generous spirit, and her love for her grandchild.
