Eric Gustav Lowry, 94, of Middletown, husband of the late Lucy (Fiducia) Lemley Lowry, passed away on Sunday, January 2nd at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Berlin, Germany on November 23, 1916, he was the son of the late Adolf and Herta (Bobreker) Lowy. Eric received a PHD in Chemistry from the University of Switzerland and was employed by the Addressograph Company in Guilford until his retirement. He was active in sports as President of the Middletown Little League Parents Association and Director of the Middletown Little League. As a member of the BPOE #771, he chaired the new building committee. He was an active member of the Civitan Club, a member of the Middletown Democratic Town Committee, acting as Director of the 5th District, chaired on the Middletown Planning and Zoning Board and held a seat on the new Middletown High School Building Committee. Eric is survived by his son, Earl Lemley and his wife, Marsha of Bristol; his grandchildren, Kristen Roberts and her husband, Todd of Old Saybrook, Sharyn Lemley of East Haddam, and Michael Lemley of Middletown; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Frederick Arthur Lowy.
