Ercil I. Beckman went to be with Lord Jesus on September 30, 2015. He was born in Quincy, Illinois, on March 6, 1931 to Nora May and Arthur Beckman. As a young man, he worked as a telephone lineman at Yellowstone National Park where he met his future wife, Irene Bittner, who cashiered at Old Faithful Cafeteria. They were married on March 24, 1951 in Quincy. After a year in Quincy, they spent 12 years in Ottumwa Iowa, where he and his brother owned a floor covering shop. In 1963, he and Irene, their children Ron, Dale, Larry and Karen moved to Colorado Springs, where Ercil worked in floor covering. Later, he and a partner owned Creative Floors. In 1999, he and Irene settled into life in Cañon City.
