Emory Gene Lee, 79, of Sharpsburg died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at his home. He was born January 13, 1929 in Felton, GA-Haralson County. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Gore Lee and his mother, Mildred Lee. He was a U.S. Marine and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the PGA of America and was the Past President of the Georgia Section of the PGA. He is a member of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame and the Coweta Sports Hall of Fame. He was the Head Golf Professional at Canongate for 31 years.
He is survived by daughter, Melanie Landrum & her husband Ron of Sharpsburg; sons, Michael Lee & his wife Rebecca of Big Canoe, GA, Mark Lee & wife Lisa of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Wayne Peek & his wife Juanita, Dewey Peek & his wife Eleanora, Bryant Peek & his wife Charlene all of Centre, AL; grandchildren, Suzanne Brockway, Jamie Sutton, Rachael Harp, Meghan Lee, Lindsey Lee, Hunter Lee, and AmyBeth Lee; Sisters-in-law, Norma Ingram & her husband J.W. of Detroit, MI, Margaret Gore of Cedartown, GA; and many nieces & nephews.
