Emmett Shingleton, age 91, of Grafton, formerly of Thornton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Grafton City Hospital. He was born in Grafton, May 6, 1920, a son of the late Abraham Shingleton and Louisa Ann (Harold) Shingleton.. His loving wife, Betty (Frederick) Shingleton, preceded him in death in 1982.
Mr. Shingleton was proud to have been a US Air Force veteran having served as an airplane instrument mechanic during WWII. He earned the American campaign medal, a good conduct medal, and a WWII victory medal.
