Emma E. Kregor, 94, of Fairview Heights, IL, born January 16, 1919, in Jamestown, KY, died Monday, April 29, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Emma remembered everyone, family, friends, neighbors, and even the mail carrier, gifting them with the much cherished hand-knitted dishcloths or homemade fudge. As they say, she never met a stranger. An active member of her church, St. Albert the Great and Holy Trinity Catholic Church for over 50 years, Emma remained a church quilter until just recently. A voracious reader, she shared her love of books, surprising the local library with a generous flow of books she had read 2 and 3 times. She was a generous spirit who will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Kregor, whom she married June 19, 1940, and died May 8, 1973, her parents, Mervin and Effie Mae, nee Bertram, Loy, brothers, and sisters.

Emma is survived by her children, Maureen (John) Green of Florissant, MO, Thomas Kregor of Florissant, MO, Theresa (Barry) Wood of Springfield, IL, Kathleen Nesbit of Fairview Heights, IL. 3 sisters, Alveretta Pille of KY, Eva Means of IN, Elsie Curtis of IL, grandchildren, Steven Green, Lisa Sullivan, Michael Nesbit, Kenneth (Jennifer) Nesbit, Heather (Steve) Harris, great grandchildren, Kathleen and Gillian Sullivan, Brenden Nesbit, Tyler, and Dana Reynolds, and many dear friends.
