Emma Wilkes Barron, age 94, was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Bo on January 21, 2008. She was born in Dallas, Texas on February 24, 1913 and was the daughter of the late Roy Lenoir and Anna Josephine Foreman Wilkes. During her teen years her family moved to LaGrange, Georgia. It was here that she met the man with whom she would share the next 74 years of her life, Frank Marion “Bo” Barron. It was the beginning of a truly blessed union. She was immediately welcomed into the greater Barron family. She embraced this large family as if they were her own. Emma attended LaGrange Business College and was a secretary at Callaway Mills.
She also worked in the adult probation office in Newnan as secretary to none other than her best beau, “Bo”. Emma was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and Bo shamelessly admitted to spoiling the whole lot and made no excuses for it. They, in turn, provided Bo and Emma devoted care as they grew older. Emma was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and was involved in the life of the church as long as she was able to be. Surviving Emma are her children, Joanna “Jody” Barron Blalock, Frank Marion Barron, Jr. and his wife Linda, Emma Laura Barron Patrick and her husband Bob. In addition to her husband and parents, Emma was preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Lewis Blalock and her grandson Frank Marion “Bo” Barron III. Counted among life’s blessings were her 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
