Emily Wosczyna, 91, a longtime resident of New Britain, passed away at the Hospital of Central CT on January 15, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born on April 6, 1923, in New Britain, Emily was the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Bak and the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Stanley Wosczyna. A woman of strong faith which she instilled in her daughters, Emily was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. She was a member of the Rosary Society, past member of the Ladies Guild and the New Britain Council of Catholic Women. She also served as past president for the PTA at Israel Putnam School and was a member of the Polonia Choir. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, taking great care and pride in her gardens and manicured lawn. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Bianco and her husband, Timothy, and Rosanne Leigh and her husband, Jonathan; her grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer and her husband, Bert , Graham and Addison and her two great grandsons, Ethan and Noah, as well as her sister, Anne Ropiak. Besides her parents and husband, Emily was predeceased by her siblings, Sister Mary Cornelia Bak, Stanley Bak, Frances Zielinski and Theresa Cabelus.
