Sand Lake – Emilie Marie Riley, 87, of formerly of North Greenbush, died Tuesday, December 05, 2017, at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Born in Sag Harbor, Long Island, she was daughter of the late Francis King and Louella (Davis) King and wife of the late Peter C. Riley Jr. and the late Charles LoCurto. Emilie resided in the Albany area most of her life. She earned her nursing degree from the Union University School of Nursing.
Emilie was a nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital for many years and, most recently, at the Veterans Administration retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Catholic Nurses Association. Emilie enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with and baking for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
Survivors include her children, Judith Ann Little, Elizabeth Ann Riley, Michael F. (Barbara) Riley, Marilyn Anne (William) VonDollen,; her daughter-in-law, Marie Riley; her siblings, John King, NH, and Marilyn Duchemin, Long Island; her grandchildren, Gary L. Lansburg, Peter Riley, Jennifer Vendlends, Kristen Mercado, Marilyn Elizabeth VanAmburgh, Robert Hayner, William VonDollen, Megan Elizabeth VonDollen, Katie VanEpps, Patrick, Shannon, and Sean Riley; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Peter C. Riley and her siblings, Marjorie Castantine and Robert King.
