Emelia “Millie” Grado Flores, 84, passed away on Thursday July 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Millie was born on July 14, 1931 in Hurley, NM to Fernando Grado and Paulina Rivera. Millie worked many years at St. Vincent Catholic Church and loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed decorating her home and made it a comfortable place for her family and friends. She was wonderful grandmother to all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Millie was a fun loving person who loved telling jokes as well as music, singing and dancing. During summer time, Millie enjoyed traveling to Las Cruces with her family, and she loved to reminisce and share her experiences being “the life of the party” in her younger years. Millie was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand and she considered everyone her family or friend. Millie was loved by all and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Millie is survived by two sons, Max Flores Jr. (Anna), Ronnie Acosta (Virginia); seven daughters, Rhonda Torres (Alfonso), Sandra Flores, Debbie Flores, Sharon Ortega (Moe), Cynthia Ortiz, Belinda Cohn (Frankie), Yolanda Escobar (Richard), one brother Mickey Grado (Carol); 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Flores, a son Gilbert Flores, sister Margaret Salcido and a brother Luis Grado.
