He is survived by two sons, Emil R. Gavenas and his wife Martha of Washington, CT, Robert Gavenas and his wife Jamie of Carson, WA, four grandchildren, Michael Gavenas and his wife Abby, Susanne Gavenas and her husband Matt, Nicholas and Anastasia, three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sabrina, William, several nieces and nephews, a sister Emma Voit, sister-in-laws, Helen, Julie and Eleanor Plekan.
