Elwood H. Shinn of Burlington passed away in Samaritan Inpatient at Virtua Mt. Holly on Wednesday at the age of 89. Elwood was a farmer who also worked for the Burlington Township School District as a bus driver retiring in 1985. He was also employed by Hamilton Motor Coach and Rick’s Bus Company. He was known as a caring considerate man who enjoyed his family and social functions. He along with his late wife Mary loved to dance, travel, drive around, and the Jersey Shore.

He was a member of Burlington Lodge #32 of F&AM, Crescent Shriners, the Burlington and Columbus Grange, Mt. Holly Moose and was also Past Patron of Beverly Maqueida. He was predeceased by his wife Mary E. (nee:Kee). He is survived by his children Carlton J. & JoMarie Shinn, Carol J. & Andrew DeFlece, Kenneth H., Sr. & Chris, his grandchildren Lorraine & Stephen Fazekas, Heather & Kevin Shoppas, Rachel & Stephen Wilkins, Jr., Claire & Ralph Wainwright, Pam & Jesse DeSanto, Kristie & Robert Johnson, Kenneth H., Jr. 10 great-grandchildren, a brother Harold “Jim” & Carolyn Shinn, his sisters Ada Endicott, Alice Parent, Mitzie Cramer, Jane & Budd Cowperthwait, he was also predeceased by a brother Stanley.
