Elsie V. Shearer, 94, of Washington Street, Parker, died at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in West Monterey, Perry Twp., Clarion County, on March 31, 1915. She was the daughter of Means and Errena Bartoe Wyant.
Mrs. Shearer was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and the company of her family and friends.
She was married in Clarion on May 30, 1929 to S. Raymond Shearer. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1977.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Shear of San Francisco, California, Donald Shearer and his wife Audrey of Butler, Ronald Shearer of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Five daughters survive, Verna Suttle of Franklin, Arlene Kittner and her husband David of Parker, Naomi Burkhardt and her husband Charles of Franklin, Wilma Ritchey and her husband Dudley of Butler, and Parma “Peggy” Chambers and her husband Eric of Waco, Texas, a granddaughter, who Mrs. Shearer raised, Connie Dorr, of Parker. Thirteen additional grandchildren survive, as well as seventeen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren, and five great-great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Shearer was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Suttle, a son, D. Mark Shearer, a granddaughter, whom she raised, Patty Cisneros, three brothers, Harry, Robert, and George Wyant, four sisters, Clesta Kemery, Flossie Goodman, Tamer Wyant, and Annie Kizer.
