Elsie (Elizabeth Frederick) Slasuraitis, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Elsie was born to the late Dominic and Antonio Frederick on February 13, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her two devoted daughters: Kathleen (Chuck) Puent of Crown Point, IN; and Linda (Daniel) Sever of Valparaiso, IN; Her three caring sons: Michael Slasuraitis of Burr Ridge, IL; Kenneth Slasuraitis of Boulder City, NV; and Charles “Chuckie” Slasuraitis of Hammond, IN; Her adoring three grandchildren: Brent Sever of Chicago, IL; Briana Sever of Chicago, IL; and Brooke Elizabeth Sever of Valparaiso, IN; Her brother: Silvio Frederick of Hammond, IN; and nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her siblings: Brothers: Frank, Louie, and Geno Frederick; Sisters: Millie Head and Judy Beach
Elsie was married on July 22, 1950 in Chicago, IL to her late husband, Charles “Chuck” Slasuraitis. They were married 53 years prior to his death in 2004. Elsie was nearly a 40 year resident of Highland, Indiana until the flood of 1990, which took her family home. Elsie was a longtime employee of Queen Anne Candy Company. All who knew and loved Elsie will miss her dearly and will carry her in their hearts forever.
