Elsie May (Wright) Smith, 93, of Fortville, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at Edgewater Woods in Anderson.
She was born May 6, 1923 in McCordsville to the late Billy and Margaret (Hennis) Wright and attended McCordsville High School. Elsie was a homemaker and had also worked at M&M factory in Fortville for 5 years during World War II.
Additionally, she was a member of the Woodbury Community Church. Elsie is survived by sons: Bruce D. and Brent V. Smith; grandchildren: Chad (Amanda) Smith; Amanda (Paul) Cada, and Mark Smith; great-grandchildren: Carter, Emma, Ashton, Mira & Ian; and brother Robert Eugene (Laverne) Wright of Pendleton. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris C. “Salty” Smith; and her sisters: Mary M. Birge, Martha E. Rogers, and Mary Ethel Wright.
