Elsie Magdalene (Lanscek) Lorah, 87, of Fountain Hill died peacefully on July 2, 2014 after a week long bedside vigil by family, Heartland Hospice, and Cedarbrook Fountain Hill Staff. Elsie was born on February 23, 1927 in Hellertown. She was preceded in death by her siblings Velma Rinker, Anna Klymyshyn, William Lanscek; son-in-law, Theodore Brent; parents, Lena (Kovacs) and John Lanscek. Elsie is survived by three children, Linda (Persa) Brent of Zionsville; son, Ray Ward Jr. and wife Terry of Allentown; Robin Moran and husband Bob of Easton; nine grandchildren, Corrie Miller, Bryan Miller and wife Nora, Arielle Joy Brent, Christopher Brent and wife Colleen, Megan Vogel and husband Tom, Bobby Moran Jr., Kelly Moran, Joshua Ward and wife Sarah, Jacob Ward; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Miller, Charlotte Miller, Gavin Ward, Michael Ward. Elsie’s greatest joy was her family. Her legacy of love, faith, hard work, compassion for others, music and laughter is the gift she so patiently taught her family. Elsie performed as a vocalist in the 1950’s with the Bob Macleaster and Ginger Sharkazy Orchestras. She worked at Western Electric in Allentown and managed the kitchen at the Mountainville Inn, Allentown, having worked sometimes 2-3 jobs to raise her children. Elsie accomplished her lifelong goal by becoming a nurse in her late 30’s. After graduating from St. Luke’s School of Nursing, she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem in the Behavioral Health unit for over 30 years. Elsie had been an active member of the former St. Peter’s U.C.C. where she was involved with the Choir, Bible Class, Ladies Auxiliary and had served as a Deacon and Elder.
