Winsted: Ellsworth, Elsie May (French), 92, of 140 Spencer Hill Rd., Winsted, died with family by her side early Thursday (March 20) at Laurel Hill Healthcare following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward C. Ellsworth, Sr., and had been a Winsted resident for 52 years. She was born in W. Springfield, MA, April 24, 1915, daughter of Oscar M. and Elspeth (Wilkie) French. She was a graduate of W. Springfield High School and a 1936 graduate of the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing. She became the Head Nurse of the Springfield Hospital Operating Room and later worked at Meriden Hospital and Litchfield Memorial Hospital. During her time as a nurse she met and married her husband, Edward, (April 11, 1942).
