Elsie Lee Caviness West, 96, of Franklinville, died Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Elsie Lee was a native of Randolph County, a 1938 graduate of Ramseur High School where she was the historian of her school class. She was previously employed with Randolph Mills of Franklinville, one of the first employees hired for Ramseur Hosiery Mill, and retired from Hancock Ham. Elsie Lee joined the First Baptist Church of Franklinville with her husband in the 1930’s and each year read the different versions of the Bible, however she loved the King James version the best. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Herbert West, parents, James Henry and Fannie Bell Trogdon Caviness, and her sister, Georgia McKinnon.
Survivors: son, Dennis Ray West, and wife, Virginia, of Franklinville, grandchildren, Honey James, and husband, Jon, Shad West, and wife, Hope, Jamie Wilson, and husband, Andrew, Kristie Booth, and husband, Eric, all of Franklinville, Amy West, and fiance, Eduardo Avellaneda, of Boiling Springs, great-grandchildren, Aaron, Mara, Devin, Lanie, Cobia, Haley, Kolby, Grayson, Noah, Rayden, Kadience.
