Elsie (Hurlburt) Champagne, 83, wife of the late Edward R. Champagne, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Georgena (Doebener) Hurlburt. Elsie graduated from Penn State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She then received her teaching certificate from Southern Connecticut State University. She lived in Middletown where she taught Special Needs children in the Middletown school system, retiring in 1984.
