Eloise Lucille (Allman) Parker, 97, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Eloise was born on July 7, 1925, in Huntington, IN, to the late John C. and Maybelle C. (Fahl) Allman.
Eloise married James E. Parker on December 27, 1948, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2004.
Eloise was the 1943 Valedictorian of Huntington Catholic High School. She was a member of the SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the church choir, and a member of the Secular Franciscans. Eloise was a former employee of Indiana Bell, and secretary/receptionist at St. Felix Friary, in Huntington, IN. She also ran a daycare center with several friends for seven years. She was very involved with the Catholic Food Pantry at the SS. Peter and Paul Parish for over 40 years, which eventually became part of Love, INC. in Huntington, IN. She was on the leadership team with her husband and several other couples for Marriage Encounter retreats at St. Felix Friary.
Eloise is survived by four daughters: Jan F. Parker, Huntington, IN., Laura Christine “Chris” (Carla Stafford) Parker, Fort Wayne, IN., Sara L. (Robert) Parker-Milligan, Fort Wayne, IN., Maria C. Parker (Michael Freeman), Uniondale, IN; three sons, Vincent J. (Josephine) Parker, Nicholas J. Parker, Mark A. Parker, all of Huntington, IN; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Elizabeth Parker, Lafayette, IN and Elizabeth Parker Kindler, Huntington, IN.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters-in-law: Frederick J. (Rita) Allman, William C. (Helen) Allman, Rev. Robert B. (Ann) Allman; and one sister and brother-in-law Virginia L. (Dale) Smiley. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law: Bernard B. Parker, Basil J. (Noreta) Parker, and Thomas A. Parker.
