Elmer Virgil Gibson, 89, of Kingwood (Kanes Creek Community), entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Monongalia General Hospital. Virgil was born on June 24, 1924 in Masontown; a son to the late Paul and Emma Elizabeth (Molisee) Gibson. Virgil was a United States Army Veteran and served during World War II as a member of the 526th Artillery Division and served as an aide to General Omar Bradley. He worked in the construction industry; where he was a mechanic, millwright and built coal cleaning and power plants. He was employed by J.O. Lively in Glen Allen, WV as a Field Superintendent and Civil Engineer before retiring.
