Elmer Clyde “Hossie” Moyers, 91 of Ewing, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky after a brief illness. He was born July 10, 1930 in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Luther S. and Nola McCord Moyers.
Hossie was a retired mechanic having owned and operated the Modern Garage in Ewing for many years. He was also employed as a mechanic for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was the last surviving founding member of the Ewing Fire Department. He served with the fire department for over 49 years with several years as chief.
He was a member of the Mt.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Kay Moyers, one brother, James E. Moyers and a sister Helen Burden.
Survivors include his wife Leota Allen Moyers, one son, Clyde Moyers, Jr. (Mary Bishop) of Wellington, Kentucky. Four grandchildren, Jeremiah (Lori) Moyers, Laura Brooke (Ryan) Moyers, Carina (Harrison) Miller and Kirk Bishop. Four great-grandchildren, Carson, Kylie, Phoenix and Everhett. Also, several other relatives and friends.
Pall bearers will be Danny Stephens, Phil McCord, Donnie Lowe, Jamie Duncan, Kenny Ramey and David Abner. Honorary pall bearers will Jeremiah Moyers, Jerry Wagner, Mike Johnson and Gayle McCord
