STILLMAN, Ellwood M., “Woody” of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in Kalamazoo. Woody was born November 12, 1923, in Kalamazoo, a son of the late Cecil and Teressa Vellinga Stillman, and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. He was a member of the Westwood Church of God.

He served his country in the United States Army in Europe during WW II and continued to have yearly reunions with members of his Army battalion. Woody spent his career as the “World’s Best Automobile Salesman” by living by the Golden Rule, managing many automobile dealerships. In retirement, he and his wife, Valma, spent many winters in Florida. He and Valma just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on January 22, 2013.

Woody is survived by his wife, Valma; their children, Connie Schlaack Dale Harrison of Kalamazoo and Larry Mary Stillman of Portage; 4 grandchildren, Andrea Bob Stamp, Melissa Joe Kleinert, Elizabeth Stillman, and Christopher Stillman; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Andy Shirley Stillman; a sister, Marcie Vande Wouwer; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Marie; a sister, Alice Tinklenberg; and a brother, Jim Stillman.
