Ellen T. Horsting (O’Rourke), 74, of Ortley Beach section of Toms River Twsp., NJ died on Monday September 24, 2018. Ellen was born in New York City, NY and lived in Riverdale, The Bronx, before moving to Ortley Beach, NJ in 1998.
She graduated from Notre Dame College of Staten Island, NY in 1966 and earned her Master’s Degree in Administration from the College of New Rochelle in NY class of 1984. Ellen worked as an Assistant Principal for the NYC Board of Education in The Bronx, NY and retired in 1999. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Seaside Heights, NJ. She was on their Altar Rosary and Parish Council. Ellen was also member of the Care Givers of Central NJ.
Ellen is predeceased by her parents Francis M.and Rose Ann O’Rourke and Ellen’s husband, Philip Horsting. Ellen is survived by her daughter Moira E. Wholey of Ft. Myers, FL; her siblings Frank M. O’Rourke, Jr. of Ocala, FL, and Rosemarie O’Rourke of NYC.
